Foreigners are welcome in Morocco, the people here will always be here to help you, to invite you to share their tea or tagine. Your trip will be unforgettable!

Hereunder are a few tips to help you prepare your journey, please contact us for any further question.

Before leaving

A valid passport for at least six months is necessary. It will be asked here when you change your money and when you book a room in a hotel. No visa is required for citizen from the European Union but your journey can't exceed three months. Two weeks before the expiration you may ask the police for a three month prolongation.

The Moroccan currency is the DIRHAM (DH). In February 2004, 1 euro was equivalent to 10.6 DH.

How to come to Mirleft

Mirleft by GPS: N 29° 34929 - W 10° 02196

By plane

From Paris or London, a 3 hour / 3h30 flight journey brings you directly to Agadir ( there might be a change in Casablanca depending on the airline company) . Once arrived in Agadir, you will have the following options to come to Mirleft:

If you are a group of at least 4 people, we may organise the transfer for you.

By car... goodluck!

3200 kilometers from Paris. The quickest way to come is via Bordeaux, San Sebastian, Burgos, Madrid, Malaga, Marbella and Algesiras.

You may keep your car in Morocco no more than 6 months with a tourist visa.

Once you take the ferry, you will have 2 possible destinations: Ceuta or Tangiers. I suggest you choose Tangiers; it is a bit longer (3 hours) but then you arrive directly on the motorway to go South.

Next steps: Rabat, Casablanca, Marrakech, Agadir, Tiznit and hopefully Mirleft. 1000 kilometer journey to cross Morocco.

Essaouira, son port, sa médina

Caution! The road from Marrakech to Agadir is a nightmare. Watch out for lorries driving very slowly (they drive this way in order not to damage the brakes). If you have time, do not hesitate to take the Essaouira road. You can then stop in "Chalet de la Plage", a nice restaurant where you can enjoy lovely Pil Pil prawns.

Once arrived in Tiznit, take the Aglou road to Mirleft. Again, it is a bit longer but with a lot less bends!

Avoid driving at night time since the moroccan way of driving is a bit surprising sometimes; their cars can be too!

You will find various petrol stations on the way; they usually have a restaurant and at times a hotel on the same spot. They do not always take visa cards therefore take either cash or AMEX.

Watch your speed, children (playing football everywhere) and policemen always present at the entrance or exit of towns.

Car Rental

pas confortable du tout mais robuste voiture de collection pour amateurs avertis

We can take care of the car rental for your stay if need be so. We have a strong partnership with a rental company in Tiznit which allows us to offer you the best prices all year round. Besides, the car will be brought to you directly at the airport.

Just ask for a quote and we will send it out to you asap.

Once in Mirleft...

You can find almost everything in Mirleft ( grocer's, jeweller's, cafés...) but unfortunately there aren't any banks yet! You can receive or send money via Western Union at the post office of the village.

A "teleboutique" can be found right next to the hotel (you can phone home or photocopy and even buy bus fares there).

Abertih Hotel does offer an internet connection for the clients.

A laundry service is also available.

Need a haircut, a massage or a manicure? Nae bother! We have many profesionals at hand who can come to the hotel to satisfy your needs!

The Hammam (baths) is only a three minute walk from the hotel. Our personal masseur called M'barek will take pleasure in accompanying you there to lift your body and spirit up!
