l'arrière-pays est l'endroit rêvé pour les promenades à pied, en VTT ou en 4x4

pêche, plage, promenades le long des falaises

Mirleft is a small village of fishermen 1h30 away from Agadir between Tiznit and Sidi Ifni. The beach here is the famous spot for surfers. The sea is sometimes dangerous for children (I have to be franc...), that's the reason why on summer time we have professionnal guards on every beach.

Mirleft has a population of 3000 inhabitants among which more than 50 % is less than 20 years old. The village, recently built (at the beginning of the last century) is constituted by Berber populations coming from neighbouring mountains in search of a more moderate climate. Indeed, the thermic amplitude is very weak, it always makes good to live to Mirleft. The combination of very friendly people, paradisiac area for the lovers of nature and a craft / culinary wealth make of Mirleft a still protected haven of peace. Nobody remains insensible to Mirleft, in its values, and the need to return to it will take you. This place remains more and more a prestigious destination for all those who really want to get rid of problems of the monotonous life. It is a paradisiac space where the nature is chief.

Mirleft, the prince of turnips, takes its name of the reputation of the turnips which udes to grow in the oued. The nomads of passage bought turnips of 15kg considered in all the region as their exceptional taste and their size. Turnips do not grow any more but the oued is nowadays used for the wheat, the corn and the lucerne for animals. The oued looks onto the beach of Mirleft. Moreover, Jean Giono wrote a lot on the landscapes of the village.

Mirleft was built during the colonial period at the beginning of the 20th century. The Fort of Tidli testifies of the time when Morocco was shared between the French controls and Spanish. The fort (see picture below) overhangs the village but is henceforth in ruin.

Subjected by the village of Mirleft, Jimi Hendrix had had difficulty going away. A photography of the brilliant guitarist hung on in the hall of the Hotel (formerly called Farah hotel) was sold 1600 dirhams by the former ancient owner. The same poster was doubtless auctioned very expensively in New York or London! "

The moderate climate attracts the tourists even in winter time.

The overstrung, the beneficiaries of sabbatical leaves and the misanthropes are in their element. The hospitality of Aït Baâmrane is not for nothing there. The land(basic) honesty of the storekeepers avoids to the vacationers to be plucked as migratory ducks " (article appeared in the newspaper Morocco Hebdo). The back country, montueux, shelters brave populations in the fight against a magnificent but bitter nature.

Here the population struggles against poverty. But it is the money of the exiled workers that allows 3500 people who live in the village to survive. Nevertheless, all the good that we had said to us Aït Baâmrane is true. An at the same moment proud and simple tribe. The village is described at the following address: mirleft.free.fr.

Tiznit, 40 km away to Mirleft, was built in 1883 by Moulay Hassan1er, 17th sultan of the dynasty Alaouite, the city of Tiznit is well known for its originality, its picturesque frame, the sweetness of its climate due to the nearness of the sea. Its silver craft jeweller's shop offers indisputable and international tourist charm. Tiznit is surrounded with carved bulwarks, considerable architectural work counting 36 towers.

Tiznit vaut vraiment le détour, sa médina, son souk...

Sidi Ifni is an ancient Spanish colony 30 minutes away from Mirleft. This city is considered as its "spotlights" of surfing where international competitions take place every year. Spanish left a strong imprint, many persons speak the language there. The architecture is worth the bend even if many constructions regrettably collapse for lack of maintenance.
